About This Place

Nestled in the heart of San Jose at 3123 Williamsburg Dr, Taqueria Eduardo is a beloved Mexican restaurant that delivers an authentic taste of traditional Mexican street fare with every dish. While the modest exterior and simple interior may not boast fancy décor, it’s the bold flavors and carefully crafted menu that keep locals and visitors coming back time and time again.

Taqueria Eduardo’s cuisine focuses on classic Mexican staples, showcasing rich, vibrant flavors that speak to true culinary craftsmanship. Their tacos are a must-try, with highlights like the Tacos De Carne Asada, juicy and perfectly seasoned grilled beef that melts in your mouth, and the Regular Tacos Al Pastor, which offer a delightful balance of sweet and savory with tender marinated pork. For those seeking a satisfying crispy texture, the Carnitas tacos and Tripas Taco — made from perfectly fried beef intestines — offer bold, unforgettable bites.

Beyond tacos, the menu features an impressive array of items that satisfy cravings at any time of day. Start your morning with their hearty Desayuno options like the Breakfast Burrito filled with ham or chorizo, eggs, rice, and beans, or indulge in the flavorful Breakfast Plate complete with tortillas. The Super Carne Asada Burrito is a standout, bursting with tender meat and accompanied by complex flavors of rice, beans, and salsa that create an exquisite harmony. Not to be missed are the Giant Quesadilla and the Platillo De Asada Y Pollo, each offering generous portions layered with cheese, guacamole, and expertly cooked meat selections.

The dining atmosphere at Taqueria Eduardo is straightforward and unpretentious, emphasizing that the real star is the food. As many reviewers have noted, this unassuming spot lacks the frills and ambiance of upscale eateries, yet it hums with energy and authenticity — especially during popular times like breakfast and their famed menudo service. Lines out the door confirm its status as a local favorite, with lots of customers praising the generous portions of menudo, described as richly flavorful with plenty of tender tripe and a deliciously seasoned broth.

Customer Marc Wise fondly recalls how the tripa tacos stood out as his favorite for their amazing flavor and texture, while Andrew Chang highlights the comforting familiarity of the carnitas tacos that make it a go-to spot after years. Marcos Soares ranks their tacos among the top three in the Bay Area, emphasizing the juiciness and perfect cooking of each bite. Hesham Naja’s review paints a vivid sensory picture of the burritos packed with tender meat, stewed beans, and well-seasoned rice — capturing the essence of Mexican comfort food done right. J N’s appreciation for the breakfast and the large, flavorful menudo reinforces the wide-ranging appeal of this humble yet delicious taqueria.

In sum, Taqueria Eduardo is a treasure for anyone craving real Mexican flavors in San Jose. Each dish is a testament to quality and tradition, served warmly in a simple environment that centers the experience on the food itself. Whether you’re after a quick snack of crispy carnitas tacos or a soul-satisfying breakfast burrito, this spot delivers an irresistible culinary journey that will surely leave you planning your next visit.

We are visiting for a pickleball tournament and this place was right down the street near The hub. It's a non discript place next to a liquor store. Not much ambiance, bit great food. We both got three tacos: tripa, al pastor, and carnitas. The tripa was mm my favorite, with the carnitas a close second. Next tournament I'll be back.

Absolutely love the carnitas tacos at Taqueria Eduardo. Went back for the first time in way too long and it was just as good as I remember it being when I first found it looking for a quick meal near work five years ago. It's certainly not a fancy place, but if I'm just looking for a plate of tacos and some horchata, this is still my go to place in the south bay.

Small restaurant with very limited in store seating. The burritos are the best in the area. I haven't had a better burrito since my favorite taqueria closed down to make way for an apartment development. They use whole stewed pinto beans and the rice is perfectly flavorful without covering up the rest of the fillings. The carne asada and carnitas (super crispy) are my favorites but the pastor is also good. What really topped off my experience here was the amazing service. You can tell that they enjoy running this restaurant. One thing to note is that the chips are not great and there are taquerias with much better chips. All in all, my favorite taqueria in the entire south bay.

First time I have been there. Had a tostada w/pastor. It was pretty good. I'll be back for breakfast. 5/7/2023: had menudo delicious. Lots of tripe, tasty broth and generous toppings. There was a line out the door for their menudo. Saw probably 20 large menudo go out the door. $20 for a large, worth it!

I have been coming to this (apparently there are three and this is the *only* one I’ve tried) for almost 30 years. Consistently the best carnitas I’ve ever had. Matter of fact, if I find myself having carnitas elsewhere Eduardo’s is my gold standard of comparison. My family gets the carnitas tacos which are always excellent. They’ll get my business for another 30 years.
